I’ve been writing for some time on the laws against on-line poker. I’ve been of the opinion that any law that prevents me from playing on-line poker, or actually poker itself, in against everything the United States of America stands for. After all, anything that involve my money, my home, and my time should not be any concern of our government whatsoever.
I’ve had a change of heart.
Let’s make all forms of poker, even if it’s not for money, illegal. Pass new laws that will send a person to jail for a significant length of time, just as they have done in Washington State. I don’t think the death penalty is necessary at this point.
Why? Because American government reminds me of a alcoholic! An Alcoholic is someone who drinking a alcohol doesn’t make sense. They have to drink, even when all logic says otherwise. This is our government and passing laws. They can’t stop themselves. Nothing about the UIGEA made any sense and yet they passed it. They can’t help it! They are put in power with one thought; pass laws. And just like the alcoholic, until they reach rock bottom, they can not begin to recover.
After passing the Prohibition Bill back in the day, it took the rise of the Mobs, like the Mafia, and all the killing that came with that, before they repealed it. The funny part if that Las Vegas came about because of all the money the Mob made by selling illegal booze.
So it will take hundreds, if not thousands of average people who want nothing more to have a nice poker game with friends to be rotting in jail before something is done.
So the first order of business will be the formation of some sort of Government against to police us all. They can pass a bill like the Patriot Act so the police can search our homes for illegal poker paraphernalia like Chips, Cards, or felt. Do you think that’s too far feched? Remember Tommy Chong was locked up for selling drug paraphernalia, not for selling drugs. We could get into marijuana, but that’s another can of worms.
Let’s get this fight over with! Bring on the poker police. It just might take a day when the people rise up and make the politicians remember who they work for. I really don’t think they do.
