There are a lot of films known to be the “worse of all time”, and I’m not going to sit here and tell you that Blood Freak is the worse, but if there was ever a voting, I might have to put this film on the ballot.

Written and directed by the team of Brad F. Grinter and Steve Hawkes. Steve, who plays the male lead, was the star of some Spanish Language Tarzan films before he made this “classic”. His doesn’t seem to have that great command of English, but than neither did Arnold Schwarzenegger. He does his best to look like Elvis, complete with sideburns and glasses.

Brad, was the director of a handful of films between 1970 and 1975 such as Flesh Feast (1970) and Barely Proper (1975). Brad plays the chain-smoking on-screen narrator of the film who is constantly looking down to read his lines. What does that say when the writer/director and narrator doesn’t even know his own lines.

The plot is simple, a man goes to work at a turkey farm owned by a mad scientist and ends up becoming a insain killer with the head os a turkey. Along the way he meets a pair of sisters, one is into Jesus and the other into drugs and sex.

This film is a must watch for anyone into bad films. It is truly a classic and get 5 out of 5 cheeses

No so much in this case. Wow, was this a borefest to the extreme!

The basic plot is this, Burr punches his boss in the jungle because he’s in love with the boss’s blonde, buxom wife. He stands there and watches his boss get bit my a deadly snake and die. The mysterious old jungle women makes him pay by poisoning him. This either makes him think he turns into a apeman, or actually makes him turn into an apemen, Lon is the cop how is out to prove he’s the murders, or something like that. It all ends up like these thing usually do.

CAUTION: The end of the film might be included.

It might sound like there is enough her for an entertaining film but do. Most of this film is filled with a bunch of pointless talking and very little to amuse the watcher. Channey narrate a bit at the beginning and at the end, which is a little entertaining and Burr is just depressing all the time. Barbara Payton is ok as the love interest.

This film was written and directed by the same man who wrote the 1941 film The Wolfman, which also had Lon Channey, Jr. and this film comes off as a cheap attempt at recapturing the magic of that film but fails miserably.

OK, there is a problem with this film, actually two problems, no Kong and no Island. Besides that, the title is 100% accurate. What is amazing about this film is its skillful use of stock footage and we crafted padding. If you don’t know what padding is, it’s a scene of like people walking or a car driving that last fifteen minutes which has no purpose other than take time up in the film. In this one, you cut out all the padding and the film would be about 20 minutes long.

What we have here is a world dominating hopeful mad scientist implanting mind control is apes, hunters hunting the “white Monkey” who turns out to be a dark-skinned native women, a double crossed soldier of fortune, a beautiful women kidnapped by apes and a father and step mother who have marital problems. Sounds like enough, right? Sounds like it might be entertaining, you’d think.

This was originally titled Eva, la Venere selvaggia in Italy, which, according to an on-line translation, means, Eva, Wild Savage. In fact the film was released under the titles, Eve, the Wild Woman and King of Kong Island. One of these two titles makes sense to some extent,

I can’t even recommend this film as an entertaining bit a cheese theater. It’s bad, and not even in a fun way. Long scene of men walking through the jungle, a car ride in which the landscape of the stock footage doesn’t match the other footage (see 5 clips) and a plot that doesn’t make a bit a sense. The only good parts are the dance scene, which are fun just to watch the lead actor attempt to look cool (very funny) and the horrible overdubbing.

This move only gets 1 piece of cheese!

What do you get when you bring together a novelist who’s latest book in called “God is Dead”, his devout catholic wife who has dreams about Nazi’s, a crazy bearded, homeless prophet who’s the only one who seems to know what’s going one and a chain smoking, angry cop who has no clue as to what’s going on, and Satan worship?

That’s what you get with The Nightmare Never Ends, AKA, Cataclysm, the 1980 thriller starting Richard Moll, better known as Bull from the late 80’s TV series Night Court. A outstanding journey into laughable horror and absurdity.

This is a wonderfully cheesy movie with every cliché writer, Philip Yordan, could imagine, right down to the follower of Satan as a wealthy, handsome, ageless, arrogant young man with his bevy beautiful, sexy lady follower. With all the stereotypical characters, there also a drunken, belligerent landlady, a black fortune teller and a cop side kick who sounds like he’s going a silly Bogie impersonation.

CAUTION: The end of the film might be included.

While Richard Moll, who is listed as Charles Moll, does a adequate job, Faith Clift, who plays his wife, brings to the scream one of the worse acting performances I’ve seen in years. Don’t misunderstand me, I enjoyed every frame of her performance, just not the way I think Faith had intended. She appeared in several of directors Phillip Marshak and Tom McGowan’s work, so we can only figure something was going on there.

The disco scenes will be a real test of pure cheese lovers. This was 1980, and disco was popular, so setting some of the action in a dance club, however pointless, was most likely to capitalize on the current fade. The songs used are dreadful, even painful to the ears.

There is one scene, however, between the wild-eyed prophet and Richard Moll, the atheist writer, about God and Satan that I found rather well written. There are a few good ideas presented in the film but overall the film is horrible.

What happens plane crashes leaving a handful of beautiful “dancers” stranded on a island, who bath and swim in skimpy bathing suits and are as dumb as rocks, have to deal with radioactive spiders? And what happens if their manager is bitten by one of these spiders and turns into a monster? That is the idea of the plot of The Horror of Spider Island.

This is a German, low budget “horror” film that spends more time trying to be risqué without actually trying to be frightening. In other words, the Horror of Spider Island in just an excuse to show a bunch of women with a little clothes as the late 50’s censors would allow. The original cut of this film was almost 90 minutes but all the nudity was cut for the American release. American censorship was a little tight in the late 1950s. Don’t worry ladies, there is a little eye candy for you as well.

CAUTION: The end of the film might be included.

The original name of this film in Germany was Ein Toter hing im Netz, which literally translates to A Corpse Hangs in the Web. And there is a corpse that hangs in a web. The troupe comes across it when they first get to the island. It’s a huge web, but I don’t think it ever occurred to anyone that it might have been made by giant spiders. This is ever apparent when the manager decides to take a walk in the jungle at night with a thunderstorm approaching.

This film is pure Cheese. The giant spiders are as worth the price of admission. They could have been built by a grade school for a Halloween party. The acting is bad and the over dubbing doesn’t help. I wonder if the burlesque, stripping music music during the semi-nudity scenes were from the original cut. I doubt it. This film was released under the tiles, Body in the Web, Girls of Spider Island and It’s Hot in Paradise. And for the lady are a few shirtless guys who do their best to show off there chests.

It was another in the a Mill Creak 50 pack. This film has to be in the running for worse film ever! Wow! This is one of those films that make you wonder, how could any make a film this bad? I don’t think you could even do it on purpose!

It’s a basic plot of is of a killer disease brought from space by aliens, which is spread using little smoke bombs (like we had when we where kids), wiping out all life on Earth except for five people in a remote cabin. Most of the film concerns the five people slowly figuring out what is going on. Clues? A red light that appears again and again, colored smoke, and a mechanical voice on the short wave radio.

I didn’t put the end of the film on the clips! You might have to go and see this if you want to see a real cheesy ending!

I can take the poor script, bad acting and silly effects, but what I can’t take is the lack of humor, either intentional or not. I mean, that is why we watch these inept attempt at film making, to laugh. This film is just boring! Oh wait, the dramatic, deep, emotional ending did cause me to chuckle! In fact, the end is sure proof that director Bill Rebane (who also starred in the epic) and writer Barbara J. Rebane took the absurd story way too seriously!

This is one of these films that might be good with a bunch of friends and lots of beer. I watching it early in the morning and almost put be back to sleep.

Ripping his shirt, American foreign news correspondent in Japan, Larry Stanford screams in pain as he looks down at his shoulder, only to see an eye staring back at him. This classic moment from the film, The Manster, happens more than half way through the film. What is going on with Howard? We need to go back to the beginning of the film.

Dr. Robert Suzuk is a crazy mad Japanese scientist with a mutant wife swimming outside the lab, an emotionally cold but beautiful assistant and a brother who looks like an ape man. Wait, am I giving too much away? No. Like most Cheesy Cinema, the plot of this gem is really unimportant to the viewer’s enjoyment. Anyway, after killing his own brother because he is out of control, he needs a new subject and that just might be Larry.

Here are a few of the films highlights. CAUTION: The end of the film is included.

This film was a coproduction between the US and Japan and is one of the better b-horror films from it’s day. It’s just a fun movie to watch. The dialog is cheesy but very entertaining but what really impressed me were the effects. By keeping the horror of Larry’s transformation in darkness and shadows, any flaws in the effects are kept from ruining the film. I don’t really mean to say this is a scary film. Not at all.

There is nudity without showing nudity, Violence with showing violence, and plenty of drunkenness and infidelity. Soon after the doctor injects Larry with his new and improved serum, Larry goes and a drinking and sex binge, ignoring his work and his wife back in the states. You can believe she’ll be in Japan sooner or later to find out what’s going on. What about the beautiful, cold lab assistant? It just might be she isn’t so cold after all.

This is one of those films that you have to wonder why it is not more well known than it is. Maybe it is just one of those films that are bad enough to be “Ed Wood” famous, and not good enough to a classic.
