Night Fright – 1968

You’ll be amazed at this 1968 story of murder, teenage rebellion and an alien brought to earth by a crashed NASA rocket. Amazed is probably not the right word . . . bored, maybe.

Starring John Agar as stereotypical no-nonsense Sheriff Clint Crawford, Carol Gilley as the monster bait, Nurse Joan Scott, Ralph Baker Jr. as the sickening sweet Chris Jordan and Roger Ready (yes, that’s his real name) as Alan ”you know I’m a professor because I smoke a pipe” Clayton, this is a badly acted, badly written snoozefest that has many unintentional laughs.

Listen here for the intense dialog by the police!

The packaging stated that this was a film about collage girls being murdered, and while that is not totally untrue, the fact is the monster is killing both male and female students. None of the killing is ever seen on screen, however, and very little of the carnage is seen either. That’s 1968 for you!

The rebellious kids meet the cops!

The teenagers feel repressed! Damn the man!

I won’t bore you with the plot details, because the “plot” is totally unimportant. Just be warned that thought that like padding will get plenty of it during this film, including the dramatic lake dance sequence.

The Scientist knew what was going on all along!
